Here we are today... Tuesday... wha sould I do today....

get to work of course... hoping my battery will be ok today and not decide to not help me to get on time at the studio when i'm trying to ignite the engine at 9.20 whereas I should start work at 9.15... ewww... today no problem though... don't ask me why... just the way it is.. a little frost on the windshield.. not really sure we in which season we are, somedays frost, other 14°c in the afternoon...

Big Huge thing today... had to put myself in front of an apple... of course not the fruit, c'mon.. u know me enough ;) for the 3^rd time in my life... I'm in front of a mac... and everything just does seems right... NOT....

Wha? A mouse with one button? How fun and unfriendly (Reminder : I'm using a trackball....), but well, even if the speed of the pointer is so slow that the 2 screens in front of me looks like 2 football field I will make 10minutes to cross each to get something on the other side, still nice...

ok.. the OS... yeah.. well... why not.. i'm open minded u know.... not much to say....

On the other hand... Final Cut Pro... OMG... how the heck is that supposed to be the « ultimate » editing software? Not handy or me just being stuburned?

I confess.. I'm an Adobe products fan deep inside.. Premiere pro rules in my life amongst all the other deadly soft they have.. and now I'm in front of FCP... that just suxx... badly.... Hear me well, after 15mn playing, ok, but I just don't have the habit...

I thought at some point I should look at the user's guide... apple « we are making products worth buying at least twice the price we will give you the yellow pages as user's guide » made me say... no... let me learn by myself to see how « instinctive » this could be... or not...c

Nonetheless, once again, nothing against Apple/Mac/FCP blabla war Windows/Mac (linux...well), just that it was not in my habit to be in front of a mac... the powerful chip etc is here (we are having one of the last version u know.. :) ), but I just don't get the fuzz about those computers, extremely expensive, that can have many problems (see @gauthier) etc... might do a post about it one day..just thought I would share my « well. That was a mac? Realy? » experience today....

For the joke.. i'm more a pear kinda guy anyway.... :)

And here i'm turning to #9500.. wow... gosh... :| (put something like an awesome argument in here)

Just to show I'm not really that kind of guy... just a really nice moment taken at the GDC.. can't even think how the MS guy couldn't change the Xbox right away.... this is just.... unbelievable... :|

Here we are.. behind me is supposed to be the "quarter of century old" milestone.. What r the changes? time in Brussels today is really nice, and it's just another morning.. another day...

Hear me well.. Almost a year ago I started a dream job.. and here I am, on the terrace of the 2nd studio i'm in... taken by Alex, she just insisted... well.. u know how kind I am.. but me in picture... but she's just to nice and got this incredible argument "in some years, u'll see this picture of u turning 26...".. so here I am.. I'm Vince, Kmeron, Son, V, 'hon, my best friend, TiVince, beau, whatever the name u will gave me, i'm just the old same pal... A rooster with a shamrock in the heart...

I'm the worst newsgiver in the world... everyone will agree on that.. doesn't mean i'm not thinking about a lot of people... Not wanna do "oscar's nite" style here, but of course my parents, that have always been here and supportive, my bro and sister in law, whom had the cutest son ever who's my proud godson... My many many friends, online & offline (should be a post by itself), amongst all those Friends... of course M. as I told u, it's been a year of exchanging mails, growing together, learning life everyday, having jobs we love etc.. will never thank u enough for the mail u send to who was my boss in luxembourg saying "he's just great", look where i am now.... do u really want me to name after dat? the FrF of course, Timu (and i think it u know it), and all of the francofous who passed midnite just wished me a Happy bday...

The list is just so long... and so not fair to everyone i would not name... but be sure ur in my heart most of the time, and that it's YOU who help me when i'm down, either physically or mentally (emotionnaly although), U help me daily with what my "I have a condition" life is now... All this sounds so pathetique.. dunno even why i'm writing down all of that, me whose Blog was just like a wasted land because I didn't took the time to take care of it... thanks to anyone who's reading it... sure someone might read it some day... lol...

Better stop otherwise this post will be way too long.. just to say thanks to everyone who said Happy bday to me, or not... I don't care that much, I know I don't need u to tell me that to know that from time to time your thinking about for good or stupid reasons.. who really cares....

Let's try to have as a nice year as the one we had... let's try to keep growing up and not be afraid of what tomorrow is made (how subtle it is to speak of my disease isn't it?), enjoy the moment, carpe diem, spread the love and the good spirit.. let me just be a little part of ur life, u'll see how sweet, nice, tender and gentleman I am...

alors, je vais qd meme le poster ce post, même si des personnes se sont moqués... (qui?? allons... point de nom ici...)

This morning.. quietly.. after a usual day going late in bed, everything was smooth and going pretty well....

At some point, I stopped at my usual "boulangerie".. Friday morning... soon the week end... let's have some "pain au chocolat" will ya... and then happend this incredible thing... didn't had to say a word... the nicely just said "well... one pain au chocolat, as usual???" me... "errrr... well... yeah.. " her "u know at some point we are used to know the faces.." me "yeah well, one day i'll take something else I wish".. remind me of my habits in France... *sighs*, or back in Dublin, with the bakery etc etc... anywhoo...

Then on the road to the studio, the news.... "blablalablabla Belgium.. and to finish, our neighbour the French [...]" ouch.. realised I was an alien in here at that precise moment... Once again.. dat's true... Do i wanna go back in France? Am i willingly avoiding my own country?? Hell no... just the way life is right now.... :)

un dernier truc.. voulu faire mon répondeur belge.... et là, c le drame.... "si vous voulez.. Blabla.. tapez 1...si vous voulez.. blabla tapez X", jusque là, point de différence avec nos répondeurs franchouillard... c au moment du "pr validez, tapez Dièse"... ici, ce grd moment.. qui se finit dans la plat pays Belge par un "Pr validez, tapez carré", j'avoue, j'ai pas compris au départ, comment on pouvait appeler cela un carré.. et puis après, je me dit qu'ici, on dit "à tantôt", "kicker" (= babyfoot), "chicon" (= endives), et je passe les classques "nonante" et "septante"

This is actually the last day of the Studio before the real begining of what will be months of Mayhem.... joke aside, it's going to be the good laugh that will be daily, meetings, nice images etc... and the beginning of actually what I'm made for.. Producing...

At nite, going to have a drink with the "usual" CG friends, always a nice moment ^^

Watch it carrefully... a picture of me... incredible.. on any given Friday, anything can happen... ;)

Had the pleasure to see a friend from Luxembourg that is now working in the North of France coming in here just for the week end, too bad I'm going to Paris 2Mo... Even if this is going to be a deadly day :)

And to finish, what is always a good shot, a Guinness, here taken in an Irish pub, nice ambiance, well poured guinness, might become a new HQ or something like that....

Let's sum up the first week of 2008 will you??? Random thoughts through out the week.... I found back some tees that I just looooovvvveee (mainly because I'm still fitting in 'hem, but not only...), first, there is the "Kiss pandas"

But there's also another fun one, a parody of Scratch from the "Ice Age" movies....

On monday morning, almost "forcing" myself to take something to eat for breakfast (u know the "most important meal of gday" blablablablaaaa), I stopped at a nice boulangerie to try to get croissant or something close enough....

And there... I realised....

It's monday morning, freakin' tired and not really easily opening my eyes.... and the boulangerie is like.....

Closed...

I mean yeah, there's the sign on top of the big glass, this is usually the spot where the boulangerie is, but a steel curtain disabled my try to go inside....

A boulangerie closed on sunday.. I mean it's like.. the day where u want to be able to go no? damn it... There's another one closer to the studio (u gonna tell me this is even better, closer no?), yeahh well, the croissant or pains au chocolat just doesn't taste nice enough....

I'm forcing myself to try to have something to eat today... and I just can't... damn it... this morning... it will only be a tea for me... let me be back on holidays or in week end I don't know.. let me have French boulangerie opening at 5am after a late nite in Metz.... gosh.....

I also discovered the possibility to look at the NFL games streaming from internet cause they're not airing in here. Simple as that. nice.. eventhough the quality is of course.. hem... well.. but at least I could follow good games :)

I also try to drink some "sleeping" herbal tea to help me at nite.. guess what... not that much effect.. was worth the try nonetheless.... :)

Not much to say... I've reached the 100 friends on Facebook, never thought I'd be so popular.. ;p On the other hand, receive a mail from a friend, and I answered pretty much like this : (way to lazy n tired to translate tonite sry folks...)

Her : "I just feel like sleeping....a lot.... Drank too much coffee [...] Tu es crevé$aussi je suppose? Tu as pas eu de mal à rouler jusque Bruxelles?"

Me answering : "ronnnnpicchhh ronpich ronpich..... (vince ouvre un oeil....) ahh... un mail sur facebook.... (vince leve péniblement l'index jusqu'au clic gauche de la souris) *click* (vince a les yeux qui se referment....) (vince essaye de se rendre compte pkoi ca commence en anglais pr finir en francais le mail) (vince bloque...) (vince est tjs bloqué) (pas mieux) (nan, pas de chgt...) (vince comprend) (vince se décide à repondre) (ou pas....) (vince lance son avant bras en direction de la souris en esperant que celui ci deplace la souris vers le bouton reply) *click* Non non, ca va bien écoute.. j'ai l'air fatigué?? lol rouler fut galere, me suis arreté 2 fois histoire de pas trop m'endormir... la ce fut la lutte, mais ca va mieux, mon 4eme thé dans le sang (le coca connait la prohibition de mon champ de vision en 2008 que veux tu...), et surtt, j'écoute un truc simili tektonik (va savoir comment ca s'écrit... y'a vraiment une génération de différence) dans mes écouteurs histoire de ne pas m'endormir... a moins que ce soit sunday bloody sunday qui me réveille l'esprit (a défaut du corps), ou encore le fait que j'ai mal au dos et que qd je bouge, la douleur me réveille.. va savoir... mais sinon, pr faire court, ca va, je vais vraiment pas faire long feu ce soir... 'si je ve sortir", effectivement, en sortant, tu va reprendre un rythme normal pr dormir tiens :p ++ Ronpich (vince s'effondre sur son clavier....)"

I also started the Photogamer thingy (www.photogamer.com), a daily idea of pictures, nice to see the other create things and way to interpretate different things... The 1st of the year was "the word 'start' in hand writing".. I didn't had any specific ideas....

Strange feeling tonite... 1512 pictures to dive in for the New Years days.... ouch...

Quiet day.. not that many people at the Studio, Bc it's the holidays... and once again, without any CGs around, I'm not that busy at all.... but like.. not at all... But tonite I'm going to have a drink near the College neighborhood... Still some nice Xmas lite.. not sure the Students around are really caring about those but well.... :p

I had problem finding the bar I was supposed to meet an Erasmus friend into, but it was just bc there was an alley covering the entry :) It's seems like the typical not expensive beer, loads of space, no fancy thing to broke if too crowded... but it's not fullfilled at all tonite so...

It has been 18 months since we hadn't met face to face with her, but it was really nice to see how the both of us went during that time :)

Dat was a noce nite, cool to see each other once again after so much time, a lot to talk about, really cool.. she's now working at the European Parliament.. cool :)

The worst thing, and I still don't have the habit, is that the bars are still smokers allowed in here... ewww... I just hate that.... so we moved quickly to another place cause it was really too smoky in here :(

Here we are... Xmas day.... So I'm leaving around 9ish.. and it seems I woke up just like in 28 Days later.. the streets are really empty... but sooo empty.. took me less than a 1/4 of the time I usually need to get out of Bruxelles honestly... wowwwwww..... hard time on the road though... struggling to stay focused and everything.. had to stop several times.... :(

But at last I arrived in my Hometown to see my parents, grand mother and brother/sister-in-law/Nephew... :) The lil one having fun with his father and one of my old old plush... (which is "ugly" says Junior's mom... :( )

He's more than One now... he was only 2-3 weeks old last year... now he's walking and everything... time has flown by... stupid to say but true ;)

Bought him a wooden bicycle, but without pedals... But he's sill kinda short to be able to use it on his own.. soon enough he'll drive it I'm not worried :)

The whole family got a NDS for my Mom... u know.. brain training etc... Nice to have parents that keep up with technology I'm telling u :)

And as usual, more and more pics from Junior... I just like making portraits, and he's not old enough to complain.. but if everyone wants to let me portrayed him/her, it's will be a pleasure :)

It's really freeeeeeezing down here... that's the thing when u leave downtown... first there's not much of greeny things to froze... then because of the narrow streets, it's not that cold actually....

Junior took the guitar while his father was putting it away.. he doesn't really know why we were smiling but well.. he'll figure out someday ;)

Time to take some last pictures.. and hit the road.. only 5 hours for Xmas.. not much.. but working the day before and after is not really helping I confess :)

On the way back, the nite is falling really quickly.. but I was glad I was able to see the whole family even for only a few hours :)

Well.. this was probably the less productive day of the whole year for me... we're not even a dozen at the studio today... and what am I supposed to do if I have no one to supervize honestly??

I won't hit the road tonite to go to my hometown, frozen highway, nite & belgian road are not really a good idea... so staying in at the B-House alone for the xmas eve....

There passing a typical French classic comedy "Le pere noel est une ordure" on the main belgian channel.... I can almost tell all the lines of this movie... lol

And I'm justing waiting time following Santa on internet... he's really super duper quick actually... :|

And dat's pretty much it for me for this Xmas eve, not much to say about my Xmas eve meal... not so "special" it seems.... tried to play some games.. was amazed and laughing seeing I wasn't the only one playing tonite.. felt kinda heart warming u know.... lol :)

OK.. Is it because it's going to be the longest (loneliest?) day of the year.. But it's really freeeeezing this morning.... The good thing is that I left on time (who said 'for once', that's mean... where's supposed to be super extra nice to eache other in xmas time no?).. But I really needed to scratch my windshield.....

3 Kilometers later, in front of the Studio, it's a so quick 'journey' that even the roof of the car hasn't defrost an inch....

This was quite a quiet day.. but really quiet.. everyone seemed to already have the head in the xmas/ family time... everyone already saying nice things for the new year for those who'll be on holidays for 2 weeks...

We'll also notice the sooo cute xmas cactus santa from Leo at the Reception... :) And Yes, it's a real cactus ^^

There's a school in front of the Studio, they seem to have a xmas party... soooo funny.... with some kinda 80's music going on.. I came out of the Studio at the same time than an other CG... we looked at each other and said.... "WTF.... OMG...." then laughing, cause we were wondering if they were allowed to bring booze inside a school.. .lol

I didn't showed til know, but u know there's a political problem in Belgium, problem between flamish and wallons etc... no or temp governement etc.. so they've created a special thing to say how much they wanna keep the Belgium united...

This is a really cold day... I am just dreaming of a Hot Starbucks in my hand right now... I'm okay with the cold... It oftenly means I'm not in much pain, which is really nice actually, I'm not really used to have even one day like that.... but it's good ^^

Good day at the Studio, finally really working in what I'm the best at : producing and supervising the graphists.. ok.. I might have need to be angry at one today.. That.. I'm not very found of.. But it's part of the job (and he deserved it so.. no hard feeling...). The Studio will be quiet empty next week, due to Xmas and NYE.. not sure we will be much there... *sighs*

Leaving on time, just the time to stop buy 2/3 things at the mall.. it's just 2 streets near the B-House, which is cool ^^, and there's even a parking, on the roof ^^ fun & Handy :)

One last problem when it's freezing outside and u leave only 3 kilometers away from your work, is that the heater barely have the time to start on ur car in the morning for example... Of course it's better than the hour way in that I had in Luxembourg, but nonetheless, not really happy about dat in the morning... :(

Arrived this morning at the studio.. time to check up the usual website.. then nomore internet..

Wha should I do know? I'm not a graphist or something like that, I'm in production, Without Internet i'm pretty much useless u know mate...

Just the time to go to a meeting and it came back at that time... ouff :)

Also nice to say, at noon, went out to grab a sandwich (yeah, so far it's a fascinating story for sure.. I know...), and realised I forgot my money, so I just said to the guy "well, sorry, going to get some cash".. him "naaa c'mon.. u'll pay tomorrow"... wow.... ok... well, I took the time to go to the ATM, but nonetheless, this is pretty impressive honestly... I kinda luv this country sometimes u know :)

At nite, I followed the crazy idea sent on Seesmic to have a common party starting at 8Pm Greenwich time (meaning 9pm in here), was mad enough to be doing it.. I could show the videos I took.. I could... but I won't... :p (Seesmic powa only u know :p)

Still a nice day, the end of 2k7, strange has it doesn't really bother me more than that... why?? I had a pretty much good year, I mean no big disease, no broken heart, 2 capitals, 2 movies... not sad to leave this year and start another.. sure I know what I miss about this year.. but it's too late... lil more than 10 days left.. so it's probably (hoping?) that it will be for next year... :D

Today, we made the xmas tree at the studio.. well.. "we"... I think Leo did... not sure though... but still nice, I just think that I see a lot of people making they're tree like.. this week u know... and I'm not sure this will make the tree long enough in the House... that's a shame... but I have a really nice xmas tree, so who really cares :)

Took the time to buy some soup.. because it's now freakin' cold... but like... really cold... I don't mind cold... but not freezing cold all of a suddent u know.... grrrrrr.... But I wasn't really sure what I bought right there... Think (hope?) this is supposed to mean 8 vegies soup... :)

Ok.. Now the question would be "How do u make a picture of a soup... but a sexy cool inspired picture....?"

Well.. U just can't.. so here's just a random cliché of what was, in the end, a 8 vegies soup :)

I also wanted to have french beans with it... but the first can I took... just couldn't open it... who's still making can's like that nourdays honestly??? nicely enough, the 2nd one was ok ^^

Just to pretend I'm still in a Xmasy mood... really to pretend.. The heart is not that much Xmasy, lack of snow, the cold is here but that's not what makes it xmas.. Miss Glüwein (hot wine, typical from the east where I live), and friends to see the XMas market.... *sighs*

But in the end, because of the wonderful power of modern technology, I had a nice chat with a friend via webcam (at least on my side), cool :) and it seems that my bandwith is good enough to be able to have a one way videocast, that's good to know (but u install one on ur side whenever u want hon' ;o )

And because sometimes an image is easier than thousand words, here's a way to sum up the good nite I had, even if alone at the B-House :)

Super freezing this morning..... and stayed for 10 minutes in front of the studio door this morning... wouldn't open mecanicaly.. we had to wait someone with the key of an other door... grrr...

But when arriving, the song "All I want for Xmas is you" was on the radio in the kitchen... ok... was worth waiting.... cause it's nice as a welcome :)

After sleeping something like 4 hours (which surprinsigly enough is not enough for me... who could have thought that...???), hard to stay focused this morning but I have a lot to do.. so I'm doing... going to get a drink or ask a stupid thing to someone to keep me awake....

In the afternoon, had the nice image of the artistic director and some other CGs trying something on one of the CGs for a character in the next feature... fun :) I took other picture but can't really show 'hem u know....

Has I said I would, here's also the billboard of "Fly me to the moon" we're having for the moment in the studio :) Soon in cinema near ur place :)

Not much to say except that... another monday...

Stayed in on this Sunday... cleaned, Ironed, finished Dexter season 2, cooked in the evening, woke up late, spilled some wax from the xmas tree table on the floor, cut myself, hanged some posters, chatted, seesmicing a lil bit, realising how I'll have to take care of everything in the end of the month....

Long story short, a quiet Sunday, where I've discovered u could buy strange Google gift....

And spend the nite between chatting and following the Steelers game on the net...

To sum up.. I'm almost happy that 2Mo is Monday ^^

Quiet nite... woke up really really late after coming home late.. just normal... Finally get out.. First to go out.. then to go to the mall, even if it was really crowded.. just needed to go out... Didn't find what I wanted so came back.. Stuck in the traffic jam.. :(

The problem about driving on the tram lane, is that sometimes u just litterally fall face to face with one of hem.... and u better not wanna play, cause u'll probably lose :p

Saw a knew kid park that is supposed to be open in Spring, that's cool, but the fact that there is supposed to be a "pub" in the castle, is disturbing honestly no?

When cooking, wanna open a Kriek, a cherry beer, but after fighting for opening the cap, I see there is a cork.. who's putting a cork in a beer....???? I JUST MOVED IN.. Do they think I know where is my Screw driver...?? GRRrrRRRrrr... :(

I had the pleasure to see a friend on MSN tonite, that's deadly, so happy she's finally back to being wired ^^ After chatting a lil bit, we cheers over msn.. me having a msn... her... not much... has she said "cherring with water would be blasphemy no??".. God i heart her sometimes :) but nice to see you back on internet honestly :) and hope seeing you soon!

One last thing, is the Seesmic Day, the big thing about seesmic is that they are making a daily video of what is going on in the office or about seesmic, and that's just absolutely priceless, they are asking the opinion of the users who are in, and even more, they really care about it!!! And I had the pleasure to appear on today's episode... (it's quick but c'mon... just make me happy :) ). It's just a thousand/2 thousands view a day for those videos u know... and it's definitely good craig :)

#9433 "My first Studio nite in here...."

I have a tendance to woke up one hour and a half after going under the duvet lately... not cool... so not cool.. well... i've finished the 2nd season of Dexter last nite, but none the less.... this is tiring days after days..let me tell u...

Anywhoo... Today we finished at 2pm because they are making some electric work, and in our job, without electricity.. u know... we can't run computers... so we can't work... :) We also received the 2 posters from "Fly me to the moon", the first long feature we've created in here, but I forgot my camera sorry.. :( I'll take it monday to show u :)

So finished at 2pm.. came home... and slept.. (overslept actually), because of Dexter... I was so tired.... then went to the grocery shop, in order to prepare tonite, because a big party with most of the CGs of the studio is on the way, and dat's cool ^^

For the 1st time in the B-House I had a pizza made in the oven.. a oven?? yup.. My parents gave it to me.. and it's working really without problem, that is deadly, but I just don't know where to put because it's kinda large, and my kitchen is large, but I won't need the oven daily u know... :(

So @Nite, going to "La pecherie", a big flat where 3 CGs roomate are, and having a big party tonite... It's not really far from my place, but the map I have is finishing like 250meters north to where the pecherie is.. arghh.. what should I do??? well.. I just stop at a bus stop, and here is my new map.. Technologies used to help hourly everyone kinda u know.. :)

Now get ready for a flow of pictures, didn't really took the time to class them... the tag line of the nite was "A bottle is welcome, champagne is a must".. so there was like 10 champagne bottles.. wow ^^

It's strange for me to arrive in here.. U know.. new studio, they know each other for a couple of years now, and I'm "the new guy", which is not really a problem... the fact that I'm on the production side should have been a bigger problem, but because they didn't had really anyone like me before there's no cliché at all, so it's a good thing !!!

But everything is going smoothly... for those who don't really know me I'm "the guy with the laptop at the studio".. .yeah... well.. dat's a fact... lol... But I'm for sure more than that ^^

It was a really cool nite honestly, probably the real beginning of life in Brussel with the studio lads... really good spirit u know, everyone is cool, pretty much not talking about work and enjoying the nite!!! good music too!

Everyone from the new Studio didn't had the habit of me taking billions of pictures.. they'll get used to it, I'm not worried about it at all.. but it was a big thing to say... "don't worry... he's a picture addict..."

Today we're having the first presentation to all the Head of Department (HOD) of the 3 first sequences of the movie.. After having the director told us some changes he wanted on friday (grrr.... remember friday???) we are showing all the departments what the Layout is looking like. It's a really important part of the whole process for the next months, we need everyone to tell us if this was going to be difficult to make, if we need additional things etc... basically the question is : Is the short worth it? (in computing time, man hours, money etc...)

At the same time I'm waiting for an answer about a friend who should come this week end... Looking at all the videos in seesmic... I gotta confess I might get addicted to those conversations with the classy people that are in... People I would have never met if I wasn't in Seesmic.... strange feeling... Because of technical issue I can't post most at all.. but seeing the topics are good frustrated cause I'm working in something like an open space u know.. meaning I just can't reply during the day... and dat's not nice at all :(

Not much to write about tonite.. not really in mood right now... last thing... i've learned the "rules for the 3".. when we wanna change something in the movie.. try 3 time.. not working?? wait for 3 months and try 3 more times... I'm sure I could have put it in a funny way, or at least entertaining.. but I'll just go see a Dexter movie I think... *shrug*

Waking Up this morning... seems like it's really cold outside... confirmed by my need to scratch my windshield for the 1st time in here....

After being cold on the (short) road... I arrived in an lite-less studio... they cut the power just to complete a lil thing for the work they are doing to build the animation part of the studio... so we wait... patientely.. 30 mns we could have done something else with... I sure have a laptop, but it doesn't mean I have network to plug in to the net.... so we wait.. until it finally came back :)

Once more the radio is on upstairs.. now I have a chorus in my head.. but the worst part is that I can't recall the name of this song.. and that's really not nice.. cause I can't take it out of my head :(

Quiet day... well.. sort of... still looking at the last day of the Stream of the LeWeb3 in Paris during the day.. nice spoke-people once again! at the same time, debugging another part of the software that we will use at the studio... Still have to try to change some things around, but they're kinda givin' me a hard time... "please" 15 people from so many departements by trying to find a method for everyone is a daily problem u know.. but we'll succeed ^^

At nite, finishing wiring a part of the B-House... and looking at a Scrubs episode, along with the latest "How I met your mother".. so good.. as usual.. so true too... gotta admit this episode got a point... If only this could be like that right now... at least for the beginning... long story short.. time to look at one last sode and get under the duvet...

So I went to bed early... to woke up a lil bit more than an hour later... what the...? o_O ???

Why.??? whhhyy???? I'm tired, i wanna sleep... :( I don't know why I'm "doing" this for the last couple of weeks... succeeding in falling alseep "early", but woking up an hour later... not sure why.. but it's definitely so uncool... :( The theory about having things to say.. might.. not sure...

But I succeed to woke up on time this morning... always a good thing.. lol.... Opening an eye, realising the flat is just a mess.. wanna sleep some more... and I should clean everything for this week end, cause I hope someone will come this week end ^^

Nice moment today, where I saw an ad for Maria Sharapova on Photobucket, the website that host my images... lol.. still smiling (she is one of the ex of the Maroon 5 singer... this is an insider... :) )

Went upstairs a minute ago... apart from the usual earthquake made by the 10minutes film they are showing some people who are visiting, there's a change, they put the radio on in the table/kitchen space... and it's Pink Floyd right now.. what can u ask more than that :) so now i'm on a pink floyd phase down at my station... the "Studio" itself, meaning with the CGs, is on the road level, but we have to enter through the 1st floor, where the bosses desks, kitchen, movie room and so on are.. meaning we then have to go back down to the road level to go to our stations.. strange... but u know.. anywhoo.. now i'm listening to pink floyd while really working on the project manager I finally was able to have in hands.. it's not a "Gold version", let's say it's a pre-release ^^

I also followed during the day the "LeWeb3" conferences through the video stream live from paris.. really interesting actually, loads of questions about what might be the next years in IT technologies and habits... especially how the Amateur innovation helped internet, not the big companies... it's the amateurs that make clervely change the net & grow up (tcp/ip, creative commons, open source...)... I do have to say that i was sometimes (often let's say..) more focused on the debates than on my work.... :-#

One of my favorite quote today : "Internet is open.. even the republicans use it now right?? Joi Ito. 6.13 PM" lol... came home after that... and not to self : do not make slip a glass cover on a hard floor.. it breaks :(

Then just the time to admire my nice Xmas tree... and surf a lil bit...

And while surfing, looking a lil bit at Marseille-Liverpool.. I'm not a big foot fan.. but c'mon.. it's Liverpool u know... and it's just because they are not airing Chelsea that's all... But looking at a match between a French team and an English team, commented by Dutchs, while living in Belgium makes u feel quiet European u know... really ^^

Ok...I'm really super douper tired... Falling asleep passed 3 am is not really helping I do have to say... But I took the time to finish my xmas tree (remember the one bought this week end ^^), nice, even if i'm not that good at hanging things on a xmas tree, it's still a nice tree at the end (Vince is sooo proud of himself right now...).. Maybe just a big obvious lack of gifts under the tree for the mo.. :(

All this to say I just woke up really late.. like at 9.30 (work is beginning at 9.15 as a reminder.. ewww...)... my bad... tired, rain, can't falling asleep, I had what i deserved... But no big deal, I'm leaving really close to the Studio ^^

Today I finally had in end the Project Manager that will help us, but I gave a 2nd debug sheet... but we're almost there.. i can feel the SQL base that makes the programm running.. just need to had a lil bit of polish and oil now and there and it will be good ;)

After the nice week end I had, hard to come back, alone, in Brussels... Even more when tired and fullfilled of inner questionning like this... what goes around comes around.. gotta make it stop...

Having a martini for once tonite... the B-House is a mess... I took back so many things from my Hometown... just didn't had the will to clean it... still don't have the will.... So I'm having a drink on a side, looking at the last episode of "Private Practrice" on the other side... wow... that's... not so good... even when ur a serie addict... naaa... this serie is nice and fun.. what am I saying.. it's just not the kinda thing I was hoping to do on a monday nite, but it will be more than enough for today, need some sleep... a lil seesmics later, I'm off to bed...

Woke up late... Slept kinda fine.. just a kidney hurting... but the usual u know... In the afternoon, just going to see the Xmas market in Thionville... not a big one.. but at least we're trying to go in a Xmas mood u know...!

Some things have changed in Thionville.. they've repainted the liberty road signs.. probably for the 11th of November...

Then we decided to buy 2 xmas tree, but not cut off one, some one that we will be able to live more than a winter.. After a first unsuccesful garden mall, we actually find 2 in a smaller one... like a sign, calling us, to in front of the door... cool.. wasn't sure if i wanted to do a xmas tree, now I'm sure I want to :)

Then I finally head to my hometown to see quickly my parents.. joining them for a small tea and a pie, while preparing to bring some other stuff back home.... :)

Looking at "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" while writing this tonite.. so there might be some excerpts just for fun and because it's such an awesome movie!!! like :

Then leaving for Luxembourg, cause tonite is the closing nite of "Luxembourg 2007, European city for Culture".. A nice fullfilled year has passed by... Under a kinda typical Luxemburgish rain, going to catch up with M. at the train station...

Then meeting C. & G. in the city center, going to grab a bite... they've flashed over what seems to be a nice restaurant just near the place we met... but the guy in front "have u reserved...??" the 2 ladies "well.. no... but we're just like 4 u know"... the guy "sorry, it's just not possible"... us "that's sad.. they had chocolate fondue.. :( " then came another guy from the inside "just leave us 5 minutes, just the time for a table of 4 to leave"... I looked at C. and said "see man, if WE were asking.. it would have been a defenitive nope... strange power of plunging neckline and beautiful women..." lol.. but in the end we entered and it was damn pretty good!

We were in there for like 3 hours at least, but the set is really nice, the food was really worth coming!!! everyone had something different, a salad, some pasta, a pizza and a fondue.....

Clementine : « Drink up young man, it will make the whole seduction part less repugnant... »

But we sure did all agree about the chocolate/fruit fondue :) It was really a nice evening actually, loads of topics in the conversations and was really glad to be here :)

So this is the closing party of the cultural year Luxemboug just had, this was a really great year, lots of things to see, to discover, to interact with, a year of meeting people, friendship, projects, love and also sometimes disappointement... for this closing nite, there was supposed to have some street animation.. but the weather is so crappy than I'm not sure there will be a lot unfortunately... But we headed to the "Place Guillaume II", where a "Disco-funk animation" was...

We arrived before the funk thingy.. a loads of 80's typical hits.. so we're surprinsigly jumping and dancing :) Then arrived the "Borsch orchestra", the intro was really space, but then they really played, and it was sort of a polish ska cover of international hits.. really fun, entertaining and motivating..!

Time to leave on "In the Navyshk".. lol.. but it was really good fun, I like popular events like that if the sound is good along with a nice spirit, and everything was like that in here :)

One last picture with everyone that made this nite so good.. and heading back to Thionville...

Arriving at 1am... just the time to say that this was just the perfect nite to end what this year was all about, friends, fun, memories, after the spring party, the music party for summer, missed the autumn one, but none the less.. that was just a great year... a dream year... ending nicely, surrounded by people I really care about...

Just the time to take the 2 angels I'll sleep with tonite.. and have a good nite sleep whilie finishing looking at Eternal sunshine.... *sighs*

Finally taking off.. really beyond schedule...1st sign of a good nite to come.. an ad just before leaving Brussels....

Of course stuck in the traffic... of course... and the concert is like in less than 3 hours... :(

Stopping 4 minutes 25 at the stargate just to say I stopped... and time to hit the road back...

Arriving at 8.30ish in city center Luxembourg, time to pick M. up and go straight to the "Rockhal", the hall outside of Luxembourg where the Maroon 5 concert will take place... the doors were opening at 7, the 1st part, a band I've never heard about, was at 8, and the group was supposed to arrive at 9... We arrived on site at like.. 8.55.. following the signs... and at the last hundred meters of the road, a security guard is here, stopping us... "Are u here as Press member?" us... "errrr... no.. but we have tickets.... and we're super douber late....", this secury nicely late us enter the parking of the rockhal, who's really not a big parking, but cool to be there.. running a lil bit for the hundred meters and arriving at 9.05.. nothing as started.. still waiting for everyone to go back to the hall.. :) Time to have a lil drink before preparing to jump all around :)

Just a quick view of the cloakroom, we willingly came without any coat to avoid that.. and seeing how many coats are there... we will be able to quickly leave.. because there's honestly like 450 coats there at least...

Not to self.. it was already the case for the Daft Punk, but no stage diving in here :p

Time to start the concert... we are probably a lil bit more than a thousand.. and as usual the crowd is just so cool :)

It's actually really rock, jumping all the time, singing, lots of fun, sooo happy to be here :)

OK.. it's 3am saturday... I had a blast last nite! A really cool nite, a really nice nite, with a wonderful woman.

To those who said « What? Maroon 5? », I'll answer, « Yup, and it was really great actually! ». I mean c'mon, why everybody told me « maaaaaan.... why are u going to see them? », well...I dunno... who said they were a crappy band? Bc their 1^st album was in 2002 and the second one this year does mean they are bad? Not at all!!!

I mean, of course, I was afraid that this would be a litlle bit « girlish » in the crowd.. but it wasn't really that much, of courses all the groupies were in the front, and even if we never actually really saw them, we sure definitely heard them!!!

What I like about band like this is that they really seemed to enjoy being here.. Honestly, we are in Esch Sur Alzette in Luxembourg.. I'm sure 90% of the people wouldn't spot Luxembourg in Europe, even less the town we're in... but none the less, the concert hall they've build there can be proud of itself... This year Maroon 5, Daft Punk, Mika, Gwen Stephani, to come Avril Lavigne or Tokio Hotel along Dream theater.... OK.. this playlist is definitely not for everyone, but that's all the charm about it...! I'm proud of being from the « close » region and being able to have this hall among another one in my home town were Linkin Park, Ben Harper, 50 cent, David Bowie came!! Metz is not a big spot on the Europeans concerts halls map, but still good!!!

So why? Why would all those come around? Is there a billionnaire around here paying them just for fun?? arff... obviously not, but I have to confess that in the East and North of France (and close region), the crowd is just amazing most of the time.. I mean really a crowd who's willing to come and appreciate the concert, and not just come, not move... we are in a freakin concert, c'mon, time to move ur body, dance with the people around, being happy to be here and live this moment altogether! (OK, Years will pass before I'll live once again the blast I had with Daft Punk here few months ago, or the 1^st concert of the Darkness I saw in Strasbourg.. the singer on the shoulders of a hhuuuuuge bodyguard walking amongst the crowd... WOW...!!!!!)

Anywoo.. to refocus.. just to say the band was actually great... OK.. The singer is just absolutely charismatic (I'd say it's all about in the stripes tonite, but not sure everyone will agree on that ;) ), the drumer is really good, the guitarist and bassist not that important.. but none the less, we are a lil bit more of a thousand in here, jumping for some, clapping, dancing, taking picture of this, with some space around, we are definitely not « too tight », and that's a good thing, we can breath without problem!!!

They've of course interpreted their Hits, but also some deep rock tracks, amongst a lil bit of deep purple, a nice cover of « In the air tonite » of Phil Collins... They're showing some talent and credibilities, and not just a wha could be called « Rock Boys band ». nope. They're definitely not this kind. I'm proud I saw them, and seeing their reaction when we booued and shouted at him close to the end when the singer didn't expected this was worth all the trouble arriving late to the concert...

I don't know his name, but a security officer was kind enough to see how desperate we were and allowed us to go to VIP parking bc we were so late... zankkk u ssssooooo much ^^

Then time to hit the road back to Thionville tonite. Not much to say. Speaking with the friend I'm with tonite is always a pleasure, she makes me notice that she always talk about herself, I never talk about me... well.. dat's me I mean.. u know... It has always been like that.... I'm not sure I have much to say anyway, but it's nonetheless a good point.. i should open more sometimes... but not tonite. Juste not tonite...

Time to go to sleep now, listening to a lil bit of Norah Jones (My blueberry night is just an awesome movie by the way!!!!).. thinking a lil bit about what I'm feeling, about my situation right now, the moving and everything, and that for the real first time in 3 weeks i was really busy all day, and that felt just good! Wha should I really say when we ask me « what are u feeling at the moment? »... probably hard to put words on it... maybe for those who really knew me.. let's say I've bit my right lips several times in the concert... :p

OMG... I'm gonna be late.... I wanna hit the road to go back to a place close to my hometown.. but I'm stuck in here bc we are waiting on someone to come back "in 45 minutes", but that might just have forgotten or who has been abducted by aliens.. or maybe is he just looking at the 5 hours version of "Das Boot".. who knows... but this is sooo uncool... grrr... i will not speed up on the highway to catch up the lost minutes.. but it's just so unfair.. we'll see how this goes.. but I'm really disappointed for not being able $o leave as I wished... :(

#9425 "My St Nicolas In Belgium..."

I swear that even for a French man it's sometimes harsh to live in Belgium... Not the fact that they don't have a governement for the last 6 months.. I mean we're not in Asia where there can be tanks in the street... no no.. a more serious problem... we sometimes can understand belgium if ur french.. they've got soo many strange says in here.. the most common for us is how they say "Ninety", translated, they're saying Ninety, whereas in french, we are actually sayin "eighty-ten", same for "seventy" which is for us "Sixty-ten", but here, I'm in front of a piece of meat... But I'm not really sure of what it is.. so dunno really how to cook it... hmpf... I swear sometimes it was easier to live in England or Ireland... lol ^^

Anywoo... Something just went wrong with a CG maya file today... He was just supposed to create a small fish, but the FX lead passed behind him and told him "woowwww... that's a big Fish".... the CG "wha????"... the FX lead played a lil bit and created a small 10cm per side square... and said "well, that's ur unit"... "Ur fish is like 8meters long..." lol :)

After asking around, it was normal, it was just a rig test.. meaning that the developpers just put the "skeleton" inside the fish and wanted the animator to try it to see if it's moving how it should be.. was just a test.... ^^

Wonderful Life of computers, Martin, a Modelling CG (the one who's creating in 3D the sets and objects) seems to have a computer that is quiet.. strange.. he just can't handle photoshop without knowing what the reason could be... as said Martin to the IT guy "it randomly crashes, oftenly really quickly".. the IT guy "what tool were u using?" Martin : "The eraser"... IT "No more eraser for you..." lol ^^ but the problem seems to be solved now... arffff.. technology...

Saw for the first time some "Xmas lites" on tonite... nice.. but without snow.. it's just sooo not the same... guess I won't see much snow this year... too bad... :(

I still might need a Xmas tree... wondering if I don't want to buy a small one, in a crock u know.. so that i will then be able to put it on my terrace... will see...

Another random thought... I now know how to pronounce "Firefighter" in flamish now... who knows...

We started a wonderful collection of phones in the Studio, and we started it under the stairs.. just for "phone" (this sentence has a stupid joke in it.. Be carefull.. and don't feed the joke.. zanks in advance...).. we just changed the phones of all the CGs.... ok... Dunno why... but well...

I know the picture isn't clear, but Danièle, one of the secretary in here, brought tons of things for "St Nicolas", a Father Xmas equivalent in east of France & Belgium... this is a stolen snapshot.. don't be like that.. .i'm not that much takin' blurry pictures now.... :p

End of the day... after cooking.. just watching an episode of a serie...

Ok... it's said in the title... I took, because I wanted to be as professionnal as possible some work to do with me tonite... So I watched "Surf's Up"... I actually really liked it.. the idea to make a "documentary" in 3D is quiet awesome really, of course sometimes full of clichés, but also fun sometimes, and nicely made.. I mean the water... wow... the animation itself is also alright, maybe playing to much with the big breakdowns and so on, but none the less nice to watch... I'll probably will have it in HD... (yeah.. well I will be able to play HD at Home.. but nonetheless...lol)

And I also looked at "Open Season", which is, I didn't realised at the moment, an other (and previous) Sony Animation Production... well.. the character design is nice.. the fur on the bear awesome... but.. Ok...2 ex Luxemburgish CG friends arrive today to see the Lighting Head of Department, in order to see if they would be able to work here.. but do they really want to? the project is nice, especially for them cause it's calculated under Pixar Renderman, which is, as named, is the Pixar redering software, which means good work ahead! But I understand them, after the "end" of the Luxembourg, they moved back to Paris, to continue on the same project, but the 2nd "End" of the project make them wanting to find a job that will last now... but moving a 2nd time in 3 months is kinda crappy... we'll see, but I would be glad if they would decide to come in here :)

Without any link between them, wondering about the addiction I can have right now... Arggghh... strange feeling.. last week the lack of news was driving me crazy... but really crazy.. without really knowing the exact reason why actually.... And this week... well... dunno... not that addicted anymore, dunno what happend.. But that's probably better, a way my subconscious is telling me things I don't wanna tell myself right now maybe.....

Come back in my region this week end for a concert Friday and some nice moments to come sat & sunD... Cool... let the week finish quickly to enable me to be on week end as quickly as possible...

I also miss my 50mm objective to take good picture... wanna do some portraits but can't really do this with my 18-50 I have left... ok.. I also need someone who agrees to do portraits... sure.. but well.... *shrug* (weasel was right... should have asked...now it's too late..)

Small Sum-Up of today... problem walking up.. U gonna tell me it's a classical situation now.. and I would agree about that....

Got a phone call from my Bro at Noon, really nice, just to take some news, was really happy to have him on the phone :) (Note to self : do NOT forget my godson Bday next week, 1 year!! YAY! :) )

Other than that, saw the result of the software we're going to use in production here after the 1st Debug I gave last week, going to be really handy and useful!! Without any link, I passed in front of Xmas trees... Do I want one at the B-House? Do I really need a Xmas tree in my Home?? Hmpf.. good question.. I honestly don't think so.. I won't be that much in here anyway so... (and even if it's taking a good turn to have a clean flat, not sure I'll really need it this year... u know... :-#)

An important thing today too.. i've discovered on a neighbour street of Home that a lot of the shops was called "100" something... and it seems it's because this specific spot of Bruxelles in 100meters above the sea level... and I wonder why I won't see any snow in here.. even Metz is 3 time Higher.... *shrugs*

Then a sneak of what my books on my nite table should soon be.. yeah... I know it doesn't seems that much interesting but well... it's for the job... the most I know about the Graphists work, the more I'll be able to take care of the problems before they appear.... ^^ Allow me to understand terms as "floating window, Z buffer, Sub Surface Scatering, Smooth, Proxy, UVs"... :)

I also took the time to do some Spring Rolls.. it was a long time since I hadn't made some :)

OK.. the weather is really bad.. I just can barely walk.. my french phone seems to not work anymore... other than that.. what a great week end :p

Spent my time Friday nite taking care of myself... And surfing to make time go by... I've crossed a really important picture.. where the singles are in the US... Boys on the West, Ladies more in the East... those kind of moments where u're wondering if it's genitically in ur blood that u have to be surrounded by singles of ur own kind... lol

Then I discovered the "Friend Wheel" on Facebook.. OK.. this sentence can seems weird for those who don't know.. Wha is Facebook? It is a social network, like Bebo or MySpace even... but more interessting I think.. The idea is simply a good way to keep posted with all ur friends, simply have mails sent to some of them as a group, giving news, taking news, more useful than ever when I see the Wheel.. Which is a representation of the links between my friends... u can see 3 big poles.... They are Erasmus Friends, Irish Friends, and Luxembourg 3D Animation friends.. :) I know some that are not connected... and that's a shame... (Just follow who I'm looking at... :p)

Chatting with some US friends, I even learn some words... not really easy to place in a common conversation but.. well... :)

Another nice app I want u to know.. "Twitter".. what's that again ur going to ask no??? :) well, it's simple, twitter allows u to send some tweets to those who r following u... in other words, it's the best way to easily keeping in touch with what ur friends are doing.... "I'm leaving right now", ok, the person I would say i will come to her place now knows I left.. and so on... it goes from the regular thought to the dedicated message to someone.. cause u are notified when a message is only aimed at you.. so the big game is about "following" friends and "being followed" by them.. an easy way to randomly know some of the things everyone r doing... once u've started.. u're almost willingly an addict.. not joking... :) Twitter is the way ur having my last 5 entries on the left of this blog :) (for those who had noticed... ^^)

I'm also glad to say that I entered the Seesmic Pre-Alpha phase.. once again ur gonna tell me u don't know what that is.. well.. seesmic is a video micro blogging chat website..in other term... a really cool idea, of just filming urself answering to a friend, or to anyone that u don't know either, and posting it, and this instantly create a video chat, but not in direct, through way in/way back messages... we'll speak 'bout it really quickly, cause I have faith in it & really hope it can become a significant web2.0 gate to social networking...

Enough talking about friends and social networking... I couldn't go to the party saturday nite.. rainy weather equals left knee almost broken.. can't walk.... As my mom told me "Why did I made u as a barometer?" lol... good question... but dat's life :p

I also had the time to meet my neighbours, Nadine & Florian, nice, surprised to know I was French and here for a month now ^^

I also started to watch "Pushing Daisies", fun, not sure I'll be an addict to this serie... will see...

Just a real quick sum up of today, bc a lot of work (trying to create the procedures, when we should approve something in order to go to the next step and so on... making schemes of what we will need to not lose informations on the way sort of... ouch....).

At noon, just went to a "fritkot" (in french "cabane a frites", in english "where everything will be fried..." lol), to get some fries cause didn't had time to cook something :(

The weather was also kinda horrible... not "hurricane" style... but just.. u know, grey, rain, grey, cold, grey, grey, rain & cold, grey.... so... in pain... :(

Also still improving (yeah well, by really small ones, but nonetheless) the Home... I swear it's now looking pretty good.. and not "I'm a guy alone in this flat, u can't walk, nothing in the fridge, everything is messed up, and why would u want to put something else than almost naked models on the walls?".. nope.. small candles, some artworks on the wall, everything is clean and tidy... I'm telling u.. sometimes I think I'm ready to get married... (it's an insider.. sorry for the other)

Yup, dat's it... I'm now busy at work, and THAT felt good :)

At nite, going to meet 2 erasmus friends, a belgium one (we're in Belgium, so no big deal u might say...), and an Italian one (yeah.. french/italian rivalry as always...) that is here for an internship for at least 3 months... We meet, right on time, in front of the "Bourse" (Market exchange), which is the "u wanna go out tonite?" part of the city.... and we're going to a nice one, with several floors ^^ lil bit like Fitzsimons... :p

An other Belgium was supposed to meet us, but he finally had other things to do (something like a driving lesson or something like that... ), so we were just 3, but it was nice nonetheless to see what we are doing now and how strangely we meet again in an other European Capital....

We stayed only for a couple of hours, but we're going to grab a bite once again 2mo nite so.... I'm leaving them to go and see the old Luxembourgish that went out to eat and have a drink.... I had troubles finding them, cause i gave my Brussels' Map to the 2 friends that are here for a couple of days.. but I finally found the good street :)

Just before entering, I was finally able to shot a picture of the ad that is going on this week... ok.. it's like a 5000€ jewelery piece, (and I'm not that fan of jewelery for me so....), but it's just the "Made in United Belgium" logo that is really nice :)

So I meet them in "Les Salons d'Altaïde", which is actually a really, but I mean.. really Posh place... I'm on sneakers, denim, and a sports sweater with a hood with "USA" written on big in the front... ok... emm emm..... they could have told me.... lol.... The cloakroom guy is in tuxedo, along with everybody, I can see a piano with someone singing, and a really trendy fashion deco... "Hello I'm a foreigner" I should have said... lol

The set is nice actually, there's a bar at the First floor, but they told me that the dishes was quiet expensive (like almost 20€ for some fish), and not that big... I have to confess.. if the food was great and the "singer" wasn't there, it could be a great place.. bc the singer.. OMG.. he's just like ruinning all the French "Repertoire" honestly.. I really wish I had my camera bc really.. it's probably one of the "America's got talent" people that really didn't had any.. but any at all....

wow.. I mean some original French old school songs.. "joe dassin", or even some "Jean Jacques Goldman", but it was really really terrible.... ouch... OMG that was really awful... almost wanted to ask him what was wrong with him.... We discussed and we finished with the conclusion that he might be a Dutch, which could explain his unbearable way to sing....

We didn't went to have a drink after that... bc, as was saying Martin "20€ for one dish... not sure wanna do something else tonite"... :p

So time to come back to the B-House.. and Loic, as an artist, started drawing on the bathroom's mirror... bc he was.. how to say it... "strangely amazed/ weirdingly seeing" the place of another mirror in the bathroom (that I actually didn't knew where to hang...) lol

Anywhoo, didn't had much time to see 'hem, but it was nice seeing the both of hem!! :)

I also went to the IT/CTO guy that is developping the "project manager" i'm gonna use for the project ("we" are going to use it I mean... err err), he's really nice, kinda a lot into computer language, but totally understands what we want :)

Ok... I'm actually almost litterally under the projection room (which is in fact a small movie theather, and able to do a screening of the relief movie we're making :) ) that is here in the studio... (u enter at the 1st floor actually, and the Ground floor is where all the CGs are...)

And from time to time, some people are coming and we're showing them either some parts of the movie they made or of a ride (a smaller version, like for a theme park, to be able to easily have several screening an hour).. and bc it's good equipement.. everyone's know what's being screened (the space launch for "Fly me to the moon" often.. imagine....)...

But hey, c'mon, I prefer having this tiny earthquake from time to time bc we are making movies instead of industrial mayhem if I were working in a hard labour facility :)

Ok... the guests finally arrived late in the evening... just the time pich them up and going to Meet the other "Old Luxemburgish" now in Bxl... We're heading to a lil bar next to where Martin & FraK are living right now.. but they found each one a place and movie in at the end of the week...

It's really like a paradise for the beers in this country... it's not a myth.... This one was supposed to have some honey and pear in it... yeah.. well.. probably.. as I was talking last week.. it's like for the "Beaujolais nouveau", it's supposed to taste like raspberries?? really??? ok.. so be it.. lol

I have to admit it was nice to all be there, even if only half a dozen... cool nite, talking about everything, how's everyone's going, all the little secrets of some and so...

Seb was kinda funny, he came and ask the barman.. "last time I've tried a good beer called 'triple something'.. the barman.... "Tripel Carmelites?" Seb "Yes yes yes, that's it, I'll have this one..." the barman... "ur french aren't ya?" Seb... "errrr... yeah...." lol... even if we're speaking a close language, sometimes, when it's a dutch named beer.. we can see we're not belgium.. lol :p

Ohhh yes, and here, the glass as a deposit.. for example here 10cts... Christel told me "Yeap, that's why here u'll have more chance to go away with the glass than with the bottle... "lol :)

Guess who's drinking something that is also a glass bottle.. but not filled with Beer or something close enough... (well, Christel had a fruit juice too.. but u know...)

Time to come back home, Loic & Christel are trying to know what they will want to visit tomorrow.. but none of us can't really help bc we're kinda new in the city and didn't had time to really visit... in bed at 2am.. ouch.... 2Mo gonna be difficult... very difficult (with nite out Wed & Thursd, the end of week will be difficult actually... :( )

Also had news yesterday of a "Friend" that went "in the dark" for several months. According to her she's going to restart her studies, and had some problems to deal with.. well... duty noted... nonetheless.. that's a shame how this ended...

I will try to write and show pics more now than having a weekly video (mostly bc a friend can't see the videos, whereas she can read and see the pics :) )... we'll see...

In the meantime, bc when the "full production" time would have come we would have doubled the number of persons in the studio, we needed more time... so we took the place of the space at the end of the building that we were renting to a small ad company... and so now we have to make some work inside to prepare the 40 people to go inside (should be the animation departement and some others....).. In the meantime... someone's playing Heavenly Sword... quietly without anyone noticing... yup.. the person thought so.. :p We're having a wonderful job aren't we? (bc the game can be seen as researches for the animation or texturing departement... lol)

Ok... devant mon besoin flagrant d'une coupe de cheveux, j'ai joué un coup de poker, suis allé au plus près, le coiffeur en bas de ma rue... "Jean Claude Coiffure"...

Bon, y'avait personne, je suis passé sans probleme, un coiffeur belge, avec moi en bon Français, et une autre cliente d'origine Néerlandaise... c pas un beau pays??? lol

Et là, au détour d'une conversation, ils commencent a me demander si j'ai déjà travaillé à Paris, je leur répond que non, et la, les belges de se dire entre eux "Ahhh mais non, parce que honnetement, les Parisiens, ils sont un peu Dikkenek qd même hein"....
le coiffeur de reprendre "rôôôôh oui, je sais pas si ils sont vraiment dikkenek, mais bon.. parisiens..."

Je vis un rêve, un cliché total, et en plus à la fin, ma coupe est réussit et me coute moins chère qu'à Metz (bon d'accord, Jean Claude n'est pas Elise, mais qd même....).

P.S.: Dikkenek, un film (plutot drole a mon gout d'ailleurs) en a été fait, en fait c du belge pour dire "Grand gueule"

So here we are, Sunday... Some tradition are lost now I'm here.. no more roller skating near the Moselle, no more stupid blockbuster movie on TV, just... not much to do actually :(

Yesterday I went to buy some groceries along with some lights for my Bathroom & Kitchen, cause they both died like a week after I moved in (how pleaseant this was.. u can imagine...). Anywoo.. now I have to, by myself, try NOT to electrocutate myself and change it.. The nice thing is that my parents gave me for a few weeks a ladder... allowing me not to expect a shortness chair problem.. common when u move in and don't have much to help u setting up everything...

So after a lil bit of preparation (even if it's not that complicated.. but just find a screwer.. u know...), time to go to the fuse box and randomly pick one, hoping this will cut the electricity on the rooms I want to... ok... the fuse box.. nothing's written on it.. the main fuse.. ok.. after that, it's A, B, C, D or E... ewww.... randomly picking C... It's the kitchen :) yay :) (the whole kitchen actually, so better hurry...), time to change it, come back to refuse it, looking if i properly connected it... and it does, defusing once again to finish installing.. and i slipped, and pushed the one next to the kitchen's one... it was the bedroom, the computer, lights, alarm clock, external hard drives... oupss.. :(

Randomly choosing one after that, and it's the bathroom... good stuff :) 10 minutes later it was done, I can now see really more clearly :)

After that, time to eat... And I realized, at that exact moment, in front of the potatoes i've bought yesterday.. That I never really cooked potatoes... ouch... so bc I have some time.. why not try to do something nice... let's see what I have in my kitchen...

Taking some spices... and let's go to makle some wedges... :)

Nice, just need the time to quietly "bake" them in a pan (don't have a oven so..)...

I also bought a wok... really cheap one.. it will last as long as possible but well...

I really need to do something.. I'm not sure but I think I have to do something about my laptops.. the Studio bought me one for the job itself... even if it's not really mine.. in the meantime.. it's making a lot of laptop @Home during the week end.. :p

At nite, as scheduled (Zanks Facebook for easily connecting everyone :p), meeting Martin & FraK, 2 of the old Lux guys, to have some drinks.... We're meeting not that far from my place, on a small nice square :)

On a nearby restaurant, the menu of the week... I swear I don't know a third of the dishes that are written here.. damn Belgium... even cooking seems complicated here...

A pizzeria nearby is having the name of Fellini's movie.. how sweet... In the meantime, as usual I'm on time.. and I've been waiting half an hour in the cold winter here.. be sure i'll have a cold on Monday... :(

Just the time for the 2 pals to arrive, and we're going there to eat some pizza :) (kinda good actually)...

Then going to the city center of Bruxelles, looking for a nice place to have a drink... walking there after being parked, we passed incredibles things, amongst is the "Flu Power Flu", I don't have any idea what that it is, but it's strange...

Then going on the Stock exchange area, where there is a lot of bars and pubs...

Then we meet one of the guys of the studio (vincent is his name :p, there are 3 "Vincents" at the Studio in fact...), that knows the city, and brings us to the "Coaster Bar", where it's "Happy hour time", meaning One shaker bought, one shaker offered....

Just the time for vincent to say expression "I told my girlfriend that tonite, i was going to do a 'Gattacca', go forward without caring of the way back".. well.. ok.. that's an intersting and funny theory... but noted expression :p

There was a little misinterpretation of the happy hour rule, and so the guys ended up with 4 shakers instead of 2... ouch.. i'll have a coke... 2€ only.. really?? nice :)

Vincent and his cousin are moving to another place, on our side, going home... bringing them back to their places.... after leaving Martin in his hotel, finally had a last drink with FraK in a small bar nearby is actual place.. really nice... came home around 1.30.. after talking a lot and discovering the "Gouden Carolus" beer, really nice, and u know I just don't drink any beer.. errrk.. but here it was actually tasty honestly :) a good first nite to sum up...

End of Week 2 in job and Week 6 in Brussels... Wha can I say... Starts feeling pretty good actually... well.. Today I'm really tired, but dat's just bc I had a wonderful nite yesterday, so it was totally worth it... Dunno yet if there's going to be much to do here this week end.. we will see... in the worst case, I'll just have to take care of the B-House for the arrival of 2 friends next week, while having the pleasure to surf on the web as and where I want...

Other than that.. honestly... well... I will meet 4 Erasmus friends in Bxl next week, 3 Belgiums (so that's not uncommun u gonna tell me....), and 1 italian, with me, it's 3 nationalities, friendship grown up in Dublin, and now meeting back in here.. strange feeling... European at the most I can be :p

I saw "My Blueberry Nights" yesterday, really worth going honestly.. It's one of those movies that recall u "yeap, luv is still somewhere outhere, beautiful, pure, honest, without any doubts".. everyone will have a way to see it... Now I just know I miss being in Love (reciprocaly in love u know...). Yup. This sounds stupid but nonetheless, it's true...

Anywhoo... I had some news from Shelly, surprised she was.. or.. to quote "not impressed by the lack of news".. yup.. well... I sent text messages and try mailing, but no answer... I really have to call her sometime...

I really need an hair cut.. I swear sometime I think I look like "Eraserhead" :| But who knows where to find a proper hair dresser?? after years going to see Elise in Metz.. it's definitely a change... :(

9.15 : Arrived at the studio. Tired. Don’t have the habit of the work hour yet. Fortunately I have only a small drive to do in order to be on time…

9.20 : I’m dreaming of a hot Venti size Starbucks… But there’s none in Belgium… ouch… Hope they’ll realise there mistake soon and bring them here… I so want caffeine I might even be okay with a “Café Nerro”… That’s how I want one…..

9.45 : Today is supposed to be the day where “Assasin’s Creed” is released… But let’s wait for the critics first….

11.05 : A friend came to me asking to help him find someone now that he is single… lol ;) Will do my best… But I’m not as well known in here (Yet?) as in London, Dublin or Luxembourg so Harsh time in perspective….

11.15 : got text msgs from a friend that wanted me to come back home for her bday. Wanna go but I’ve calculated that it’s more expensive for me to go Home than going to Dublin by plane… strange thing.. and regarding my finances right now… :( will see….

11.24 : I really have to get used to someone calling “Vincent” when it is not meant for me… We’re 3 Vincents in the Studio, all 3 on the same area… confusing sometimes… :(

16.40 : I ate with a part of the crew, take away taken from a Vietnamese (well, asian.. u know wha I mean…) place nearby.. cheap and good.. good to know :)

16.41 : Not much else to say….

16.42 :Yup.. really not much to say… I’m almost bored.. because I’m waiting on the IT Tools that we are supposed to use for the next 2 years.. and in the meantime, don’t have much to do cause everything will be done on that tool….

16.43 : Looking for some smoothies receipes… I swear I don’t have much to do for the moment…. But I know in a few months I’ll be very busy so it’s no big deal…

16.45 : Had some news of a Belgian Erasmus Friend who invited me through Facebook to a party on Friday Nite… It’s supposed to be “Urban Style Nite Out” (understanding “Reaggae”.. ewwww….) But I might will make the effort to go, to see how it is in the Bruxelle’s Nite.

16.47 : I’ll try to find a copy of the First Long feature that the Studio made and that should be coming out next semester… I assure U how unpleaseant it is to take work home and having this mandatory thing that is looking at a movie… :p

17.32 : My back is hurting a lil’ bit.. If anyone wants to give me a massage… I’m taking without any problem at all…. :p

Premier arrêt de la journée, me suis arreté acheté une "Belette" en peluche pr celui dont justement le surnom est belette, on avait vu cette petite créature à Ikea avec une amie, et on a tout de suite pensé à lui :)

Découverte de Pub... Bizarre diront nous.. vive l'€uro et vive le statut de frontalier mais qd même... bizarre...

Puis Direction Esch Sur Alzette, petit patelin, certes au nom on ne peut plus Luxembourgeois, méconnu de tous, mais avec suffisament de place pour y avoir installé la "Rockhal", salle de concert grande, moderne, et avec qd meme une playstit annuelle loin d'être mauvaise sincerement!

Le temps juste d'acheter qqes tickets de "ration" pour pouvoir manger qqes frites avant de jumper pendant des heures au son des artistes présent dans ce festival... le "Red Rock" Festival....

En fait on est vraiment au pied d'un ancien complexe industriel qd même...

Petit coup d'oeil sur la playlist des artistes présent ce 2eme et dernier jour du festival.. chris Cornell, chanteur de Soundgarden, d'Audioslave, et de la chanson du dernier James Bond, Placebo, a priori tt le monde connait, mais on est aussi et surtt là pr Daft Punkkkkkkkkkkkk :|

Bon, on commence donc par Chris Cornell... mouais.. il est gentil, il est pas trop lourd, son anglais est compréhensible, mais au fond sa voix en live.. ben... bof quoi.. le meilleur moment est peut etre probablement celui ou les fusibles du soundsystem sautent et il se retrouve seul a jouer sans ampli sans rien... lol... du coup on essaye de lui remonter le moral le pauvre... lol

Retrouve tt le monde, histoire de se recentrer et ne pas se perdre, le tps d'acheter un t-shirt avec le (chouette) logo du festival, et hop, on va se préparer pr Placebo...

Le chanteur (Brian Molko), outre le fait qu'il parle un français quasi impeccable, décide de parler en Anglais (allez comprendre)... et il commence à essayer de faire répondre la foule Lui : "Gimme a RED"... Nous "REDDDD" (on est pas chiant hein...)... "Gimme a ROCK"... Nous (presque compatissant...) "ROCKKKKKK"..... "Gimme a RED ROCCKKKKKK".. allez, faisons lui plaisir.... "REDDDD ROCCKKKK"... lui "Gimme a $^qùùq$s^d$^$$$"é^$é"^')é"'" " (c du luxembourgeois en fait...).. Nous " ......". Lui... "Yeahhh.. I didn't think so...." Ok.. bien vu petit bolide.. enchaine sur "Special K" va... et on chantera avec toi.... :p

Bon OK.... Pas mal... ca fais du bien d'entendre les chansons différements... ils ont pas l'air d'y mettre bcp de coeur mais ca passe... et ensuite... apres un break d'une bonne heure.. arrive les Daft Punk.. qd on y pense..je découvrais y'a plus de 10 ans leur 1er album "Homework" alors que j'entrait au Lycée, et j'adorais... depuis ils ont continué à jouer leur role et leur musique, dans une industrie ou on est vite remplacé pas eux.. et en Live.. j'allais découvrir des sensations visuelles, sonores, une communion, jamais vécue auparavant... Ca commence avec la musique de "Rencontre du 3eme type".. ces qqes notes donnent le ton... et là... juste éclairé par derrière... et a vu de nez les 4000 personnes qu'on forme crient à tout va...

Presque divisé en actes, le set est simplement impressionnant et incroyable, une science du mix, de jouer avec leur morceaux, de faire venir un riff 10 minute avant de passer le morceaux.. scotché de bout en bout... et ce n'était que le début...

Car au fur et à mesure c'est le set, le décor, qui se découvre, la pyramide affiche des couleurs simples et pleines, puis des dégradés, enfin des images, les lasers s'y melent, la dalle derrière eux fait ressortir les mots importants.... waoooww...

Ils remercient et s'en vont.. ont fait un rafût du diable pendant de longues minutes.. assourdissant, tous en demandant de plus de ce spectacle a proprement parlé... ils reviennent.. dernière mélodies, derniers jumps, derniers trepignement... "Human after all"...

Le final, leur "costumes" est juste définit par des néons rouge qu'il porte... un dernier mouvement de masse... et on vient vraiment de vivre qqe chose d'incroyable.. pas bcp de discours sur le retour.. je devenais vraiment accroc à cet idée de vivre qqe chose d'aussi grd, d'aussi talentueux.. ca ne va pas etre évident de le revivre souvent.. n'empeche.. si y'a 5 concerts dans ma vie que je veux voir, ils en font partie, et j'avais raison (on incluera Tenacious D et U2 dans les 5...)... Waow... :|

Mais vu qu'il c mis à pleuvoir assez rapidement, je n'ai simplement pas eut le temps de m'y essayer... se sera a la volée.. et ca se ressent sur les images.. lol

Ok.. C definitivement désert.. un peu comme une scène à la Sergio Leone.. le studio se désintègre lentement.. on est parti pour 2 mois de ralentissements au possible....
Ok.. it's empty... almost like in a Sergio Leone movie u know.... The studio is slowing fading down... We are probably beginning 2 months of slowmotion.. trying to loose time with as many ways as possible...

Avec par exemple des petits jeux en flash, a la recherche du Hi-Score, du plus haut level etc....
With for examples some lil games in Flash, looking for a Hi-score or the highest level...

Au moins on a le temps de parler, de rire, de se rappeller les bons moments.. limite ambiance fin de vacances en fait... arff.. une belle aventure artistique et Humaine qui prends fin...
At least we have time to talk, to laugh, to remember all the good moments... It's like the end of the holidays u know... The end of a nice artistic and Human adventure....

En tt cas c qqes mois m'ont permit de découvrir un métier qui me passionne, avec des gens extras, j'espere sincerement pouvoir travailler avec pas mal d'entre eux dans le futur... on verra suivant le prochain projet sur lequel je vais aller...

Aller hop, remotivation a bloc, retour au Studio, retour aux problemes de production.. pour faire simple.. on tourne à vide.. on a plus bcp d'éléments à créer/animer/Sortir.. c la débandade... une histoire de sous, de langues maternelles, de directions artistiques.... :(
Back to the Studio, meaning coming back to the production problems.. a long story of money, artistic point of views, language... we are now not creating anymore.. we don't have much to do left... getting boring.... :(

On est en train de perdre le projet, parce que les Américains pensent qu'ils peuvent le finir dans des meilleurs conditions ailleurs... moi je veux bien.. disons que de tte façon les torts sont partagés... Mal géré des 2 cotés = forcément pépin... on verra dans les semaines a venir.. Mais c mal parti...
We are loosing the project, bc the Americans think they can finish it with better ends somewhere else.. well.. why not... but the problems were on both sides anyway so....

Les photos n'ont aucun rapport avec le texte et ne sont présenté qu'à titre purement indicatif...

Me voila donc dans le termial A66 de l aeroport de dublin, probablement celui qui est le plus loin au bout du bout du bout du bout du monde... au moins 25minutes de marche apres avoir essaye de trouver des ptits kdos sympa pr les amis, du parfum que la famille avait commande, et que bien evidemment je n ai pas trouve, et qu ils ne me croiront pas qd je leur dirai au il n y avait vraiment que les dernieres nouveautes....

Sinon voila, les 3 jours de retour "au pays" sont deja termines... comme tjs c passé bcp trop vite, que des bons moments, que des personnes qui m ont dis "hey Vince, ct va? que deviens tu?".. le tout alors que je n aurais jamais pense que cette personne se souvienne de moi... ce que j exprime souvent d'ailleur, avec le droit en retour a un "cmon, I remember U, I remember my favorite lil frenchie french" (sans rire, c arrive 5 fois cette conversation, a croire qu ils c t passsé le mot...)

Bcp de souvenirs reviennent a la surface, tres souvent des tres bons, rien que de voir Stewie, ne serait ce que pour une soiree etait deja geant, comme a chaque fois c comme si on c t quitte la veille, ca fait juste un bien fou dans l ambiance generale actuelle... :)

Sinon je tape sur un clavier qwerty, et honnetement c juste la galere ce truc.. on s y fait, mais qd meme, loin d etre facile....

Certains moments m ont aussi bcp fait reflechir... le truc tt con que peut etre le fait de regarder "Walk the Line" apres une seule vision ici meme au cine fait que je me suis replonge dans une phase bien etrange qui etait de savoir ou j'en etait sur differents plans personnels, loin detre stupide, ses reflexions vont me servir a mort dans les prochaines semaines.. ont verra bien ce que ca donne hein... on se tient o courant rassurez vous :)

Le meilleur moment du trip? pffffiou la question piege, je peut par contre dire ce qui est toujours aussi poignant et touchant, que lors d une sortie en club ici, la derniere chanson etait "Bloody Sunday" de nos Irlandais preferes de U2, et cette sensation incroyable de chanter a tue tete cette chanson de A a Z avec un peuple en communion qui essaye de faire la paix avec ses demons et querelles internes, l impression de vivre l instant present a fond, l envie de rester dans cette ambiance ou la nationalite, les problemes, les baisses de moral ne sont rien pendant ses 3minutes 45, instinctivement je retourve le moral et la patate, esperant continuer le metier que je suis en train d apprendre au jour le jour...

Ces 3 jours m ont fait du bien, ce week end prolonge me rassure sur bien des points, je ne dis que oui, a defaut de ne pas etre revenu ici pr un boulot, je n y est pas pour autant laisse mon ame, mes envies et amitie dans ce qui pourrait ressembler a ma vie surbooke ses derniers mois, je sais qui je suis, ou je vais, pkoi, ce que je veux (sisim promis...) et ou sont mes amis les plus forts... Slainte Eire!!

Dernier petit mot pour celle que j aurai aime avoir a mes cotes ici, promis la prochaine fois tu liberes ton emploi du temps et on se fait un trip sur l ile d emeraude... en attendant on continuera a essayer de se voir un maximum, manger ensemble, se remonter le moral mutuellement, s echanger nos points de vue, car comme disait l autre, l amitie, c aussi accepte que ses amis ne soient pas tjs d accord avec soi... en meme tps, ca tombe bien, on est rarement en desaccord, mais promis un jour on passera une mauvaise soiree, on s engueulera, mais peut importe ce qu il arrive, moi je serai encore et tjs la, les derniers evenements, malgre la distance du aux annees, m appuie dans mon propos :) (et tu sais que je parle de toi.. inutile de te nommer...)

We find there Anastacia (waitress there), some french friends (with an awful French accent, believe it or not.. ;p ) and 3 more friends including Amy...

This is a pure Irish Lock Up, meaning being in a pub, behind the bar, taking whatever we want, with all the doors and windows close :) Nice :)

After a last song, without much voice left, time to head back home.. with, as often, the lite of the sun coming.. :)

We woke up kinda late... I'm staying at Alan's, that moved out of the Griffith College this year... Which in this case is more handy, cause we won't have any problem showing our ID to enter the college.. :)

My laptop, always with me, almost undestructible...

The Irish version of the monopoly....Funny :)

Leaving Alan's (typical Irish house), to go the Headline to grab a bite...And driving on the left is still so wrong and not normal... ;)

I quote Alan : "U see, we'll laugh of this picture in 10 years...". I'm sure we will :)

Ordering and eating in a pub, it's traditionally good, and I can't believe I never ate at the Headline's.. And brown sauce, dat's tasty :)

Shelly : "This is the Sports magazine with the less sport in it EVER.... :| ".. Yup, seeing the cover... :-#

Just the Time to go to the City center not far, fun to see the parking tickets written in English and in Gaelic...

Just went quickly to Alan's cinema where he's working.. and heading home.. chillin'....

Après une journée de travail au Studio somme toute assez rapide et pas perturbante outre mesure, avec notamment un Bastou amusé de raconter son anecdote du Karaoké hier soir... Direction l'aerport de Francfort Hahn, presque 2 heures à l'Est du Luxembourg d'où je part directement pour aller retrouver mon Pays d'adoption...
After a working day at the studio, kinda quick and without that much work actually (all the deciders on the US sides are gone...), with a Bastou still laughing about the "Karaoke" incident from Yesterday... And I'm then leaving for Frankfurt Hahn, an airport 2 hours away, East of Luxembourg, to go to my adoptive country for the week end...

It's actually a really really small airport in Germany.. God I hate Ryanair... as usual u might say... And there was even some Plush of the White Bear that just came to Life at the Berlin's Zoo, and dat is something like a superstar now... :|

I had (of course) my Ipod with me, but it was the headphones that I forgot.. ouch.. hours without music.. wha should I do?? But fortunately I was able to buy some in the only shop of the Airport.. Unfortunately it was probably the worse ever.. big, doubtful sound coming in... Grrrrrr

We're flying on Ryanair (Hate this company bis)... From a plane that is coming from Dublin, leaving people in Hahn, taking some there, and going back to Dublin.. maximising at the most the planes... ewww....

A lil less than 2 hours of Flight, and here I am back In Dublin for a big week end... :) Dublin Airport is as good as usual, Ryanair is a bad as usual, 20 minutes walk to come back to the big terminal.. awful..

On board there was the Irish female Basketball team... lol :)

Just the time to get out of all the crowd.. and realise Shelly was actually late to come pick me up... So just a pick up & Go and going to the Headline, the bar accross the old flat... And on the road, saw good things :)

A band is playing a lil' gig, really nice, and here we are with Shelly, Alan, & Stuart, that is here also for only a few hours... But it's still nice to be with almost everyone once again... :)

Then, we're doing the closing of the pub... eventhough I came kinda late, and so we didn't had much time available here.... but well.. was just the beginning of the nite...

Decided to go to a club, in order to move a lil bit and have as much time together as possible...

And, also as usual, we're staying until the end of the club... A few hours later, dancing on the hits of the year, but with typical Irish things as "Jump Around" by House of Pain, The Fallout Boys, but also "Bloody Sunday" By U2... And it's always a strange feeling, nowing the History of the country, that whole of the youth here are singing as loud as they can this hymn... Even I, foreigner, for a moment, is proud to be here, almost Irish, united by a song reminding everyone something strong and powerful...

And we, in the end, had good craig this nite, always so cool to hang out all together... Gosh I almost miss moments like that now...

We finally get out after havin' taken back our coats... And bc all the clubs are closing at the same time, Dublin for an hour or so looks like a ruined city.. everyone hanging, singing, looking for a cab.. but we know how to handle the way back.. by foot...

Then, because tradition is worth staying one... Stopping at Rico's.. Buying something to eat :) Yummy :)

Rico's is probably not the best take away places in Dublin, but it's stil a really good one, open really late, afordable, and.. Tradition.. Since the Superbowl 2 years ago, that was on a pub nearby...

Sun is coming up.. time to go to bed... And hope 2Morrow will be as good as tonite...

#9257 My Thionville Music festival...

Lancé l'idée d'aller faire la fête de la Musique avec les personnes du Studio à Thionville, au départ, tt le monde n'était vraiment pas partant, d'une part parce que le temps était vraiment pas terrible, d'autre part parce qu'il fallait se bouger jusque Thionville... et puis finalement, quasiment comme toujours, la "sauce" a pris, ramenant pas mal de monde....
The idea was to take anyone of the studio and go to what we have in France on the day of the summer which is music going on the street, everyone being able to celebrate summer and music by playing all nite... at the beginning, not many wanted to come mainly because the weather was really really bad... But in the end, we almost were all there...

Ca faisait bien longtemps que j'avais un peu laissé tomber l'idée de la Fête de la Musique, parce que, au fond, c souvent blindé de monde, difficilement pratiquable dans la rue, et surtout, c presque un concours de "à que j'ai le plus gros ampli, ouaip, je sais pas jouer, mais j'ai l'ampli qui va jusqu'à 11 Môsieur.."
It was a while ago I really stopped going to this special yearly event.. because always crowded, with almost no place to move, listening to everyone playing at the same time, usually not nicely of course, and with the strange idea of "I have the biggest sound system so let me play my thing" kinda guys......

Mais là, bizarrement, le fait que tout le monde est pris le temps de bouger jusque Thionville (qd meme quoi...), avec un temps magnifique, et une VRAIE organisation de qui joue où et quand.... ca commençait vraiment bien en fait :) J'appris plus tard que la moitié de Nicolas (L'Homme tout sourire) est en fait la soeur du meilleur ami d'un de mes cousins... comme quoi.. le Monde.... :)
But here for once, strangely, maybe because everyone's here and the weather is really great, it started really nicely....

La scène métal.. je confirme.. Definitivement pas mon genre de Musique... Mais c drôle de voir cette pseudo jeunesse "ouais, tu vois, moi dans la vie il m'est arrivé des trucs, j'ai du vécu... 13 ans.. ouais... mais du vécu... " lol
The metal arena.. strange to see all those teenagers jumping all around... thinking they have lived a lot and are tortured by all this life.. lol

Puis direction quelque chose de plus "écoutable" dans ce genre de cadre... Percu Brésilienne....
Then going to hear something more "listeningable" in that kind of nite... Bresilian Percussions.. really nice actually....

Cela ressemblait au départ à un Karaoké, du coup, Solenn et Bastou, intrépide, on été demandé si c t bien un karaoké et ou il fallait s'inscrire pour chanter... l'Homme de répondre laconiquement.. "Mais non.. c pas un Karaoké...".. c vrai qu'on pouvait douter vu le niveau.. mais comme quoi.. le talent n'attends pas l'age...
It looked like a karoke, Solenn & Bastou went to ask where we should sign up to sing the "singer" simply answered "well, this is not a karoke.. why??".. That's true we could be wondering....

Finalement je laisse un peu tout le monde en plan assez "tôt" (comprendre juste passé minuit), mais parce que demain, direction l'Ile d'Emeraude :)
I left quite "early" (meaning just after midnite), bc tomo I'll be leaving for the Emerald Island :)
